About - Fine Art Print

This print is a professional reproduction of the original painting Musa and the Stag from the Natural Oology collection (originals as yet unreleased).

My neighbour is an entomologist and fellow creative - she lent me some beetle species from her collection for me to paint! One of these specimens was a Green Stag beetle, native to Southeast Asia. I had also just been to the museum and bought a book that contained some botanical prints. I used the print, Musa by Christoph Trew (1695-1769) as the base for my work, and painted the stag beetle on top of it.

All prints are printed with archival quality inks that are rated to last well over 100 years as long as they are protected under UV rated glazing and are displayed out of direct sunlight.

Prints are limited edition and are a strict run of 200. Each print is accompanied by a numbered certificate of authenticity signed by Penny. Prints are made to order and are shipped within 10 working days from receipt of order. Please take this into consideration when ordering your print.

Hemp paper - a lightly textured eco-friendly fine art paper created from sustainable hemp fibres. 290gsm, 60% hemp fibre, 40% cotton, acid free, white.

Hahnemühle Hemp uses one of the oldest and most diverse natural fibres in the world and is made of 60% hemp fibre. The FineArt inkjet paper’s base impresses with its bright white natural tone. The lightly textured surface gives the paper a pleasant, silky feel. Colours and details are brilliantly reproduced, the depth of the black truly stands out and contrasts are reproduced with stunning effect.
