A modern still life, playing with flattened perspectives and exploring the tension between planes of earthy tones and the ecstatic brightness of neons. The “setting sun” is an orb of pure orange neon oil stick, illuminating a bouquet of garden flowers. This piece aims to remind us once again that beauty is all around, and in fact present in the simplest things, like sunsets and fresh blooms. We are to make our own personal paradise.
