About - Fine Art Print Falling Rose

This print is a professional reproduction of the original painting Falling Rose from the Botti Shelli collection.

The Birth of Venus by Sandro Botticelli inspired this whole collection. If you look at Birth of Venus, you will see in the background roses blowing in the wind, on a pale blue sky and green ocean. “Falling Rose” is my own take on this; I stained the linen background transparent blue, so the linen fibres can still be seen – linen is the canvas of choice that would have been used in the early paintings. The rose is painted brightly to bring a modern twist, but I have used gold leaf to mimic the very tiny yellow details in the roses painted by Botticelli.

Specifications

All prints are printed with archival quality inks that are rated to last well over 100 years as long as they are protected under UV rated glazing and are displayed out of direct sunlight.

Prints are limited edition and are a strict run of 200. Each print is accompanied by a numbered certificate of authenticity signed by Penny. Prints are made to order and are shipped within 10 working days from receipt of order. Please take this into consideration when ordering your print.

Prints are available in two options:

Hemp paper - a lightly textured eco-friendly fine art paper created from sustainable hemp fibres. 290gsm, 60% hemp fibre, 40% cotton, acid free, white.

Hahnemühle Hemp uses one of the oldest and most diverse natural fibres in the world and is made of 60% hemp fibre. The FineArt inkjet paper’s base impresses with its bright white natural tone. The lightly textured surface gives the paper a pleasant, silky feel. Colours and details are brilliantly reproduced, the depth of the black truly stands out and contrasts are reproduced with stunning effect. 

• Hemp paper prints are sold unframed.
• Hemp paper prints include an additional 10-20mm of white border around the artwork (depending on artwork size) to allow for framing.

Canvas – poly-cotton canvas in matte finish. 395gsm, acid free. 

Manufactured with a high quality poly-cotton canvas base, coated with a new advanced technology of microporous coating. This canvas produces true fine art reproduction precision images with very high resolution.

• Canvas prints include additional material around the edges to allow the print to be stretched on a sub-frame.
